Visa Information for International Participants Attending SIN 2026 in Türkiye

    Current as of January 2026
  • All participants must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity beyond their planned entry date into Türkiye (some sources mention 60 days beyond stay - check your nationality requirements).
  • Türkiye's visa policy depends on your nationality and passport type. Conference attendance generally falls under tourism or business (commerce/conference/seminar/meeting) purposes, allowing short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period in most cases.
  • We recommend starting the visa process at least 2-3 months before travel, especially if applying via embassy.
  • Visit the official Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the most up-to-date information by nationality: Check Website

You can also use the visa wizard on https://www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/ or https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ to see your options.

    1. Visa-Exempt Nationalities
    2. Citizens of many countries (approximately 80-117 depending on updates) can enter Türkiye without a visa for short stays (usually up to 90 days in 180 days) for tourism/business/conference purposes. Examples include most EU/Schengen countries, UK, USA (ordinary passports), Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Norway, and many others. → No visa application needed - just a valid passport.

    3. e-Visa (Electronic Visa):
    4. Nationals of many countries can obtain a single or multiple-entry e-Visa quickly online at: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/

      • Processing usually takes ~3 minutes (24/7).
      • Suitable for tourism or commerce/business purposes, including attending conferences, seminars, meetings, fairs, and exhibitions.
      • Requirements: valid passport, email address, credit/debit card for fee payment.
      • Print or save the e-Visa PDF and present it at entry (along with passport).
      • Important: e-Visa is not available for work, study, or other long-term purposes.

    5. Sticker Visa (Traditional Visa from Embassy/Consulate)
    6. If you are not eligible for visa exemption or e-Visa, or if your purpose falls outside tourism/commerce:

      • Apply through the nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate.
      • Start with the Pre-Application System for Turkish Sticker Visa: https://www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/Visa/Index
      • Many applicants are then directed to e-Visa if eligible; otherwise, book an appointment.
      • Processing time varies (weeks to months - apply early!).

    1. Invitation Letter:
    2. Many embassies appreciate (and some require) an official invitation letter from the conference organizer. Contact the conference secretariat early to request one (include your full name, passport number, presentation/poster details if applicable, conference dates, and venue). Some conferences issue these only after registration/payment.

    3. Passport Validity & Blank Pages:
    4. Ensure at least one blank page for stamps and validity beyond your stay.

    5. Entry Purpose:
    6. Clearly state you are attending a conference/seminar when applying or at the border.

    7. Changes & Updates:
    8. Visa rules can change based on reciprocity and current regulations. Always verify with official sources (mfa.gov.tr or evisa.gov.tr) closer to your travel date.
