 WORKSHOP INFORMATION

SIN 2009 will hold multiple workshops on from October 6th to October 10th 2009, in North Cyprus, co-located with the main conference. See http://www.sinconf.org

We cordially invite you to submit proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with 2nd ACM International Conference on Security of Information and Networks (SIN 2009) before 1 March 2009 to the Workshop Chair Dr. Ahmet Koltuksuz (SINConf-Workshops@sinconf.org).  The workshop proposal theme should be closely related to the conference topics.

The purpose of these workshops is to offer researchers a good opportunity to present their work in a more focused way than the main conference itself and to obtain feedback from an interested community.

In close cooperation with the SIN 2009 Workshops Chair, workshop organizers are responsible for establishing a program committee, collecting and evaluating submissions, notifying authors of acceptance or rejection in due time, and ensuring a transparent and fair selection process, organizing selected papers into sessions, and assigning session chairs. Workshops will be provided an equipped room to meet at he conference venue. Each paper in the workshop must be registered for and presented in person by its author(s).  Workshops proceedings will be included in the conference proceedings.

Each workshop proposal should clearly indicate its strength and usefulness and how it complements conference theme. It is expected that a proposal should provide a better insight into the proposed topics compared to what is covered in conference presentations.

Workshop proposals should be submitted to the workshop chair and it should include the following.

  • Workshop title.
  • Workshop description with justification.
  • A draft call for papers or proposed workshop.
  • Names and affiliations of organizers and tentative composition of the committees.
  • Prior history of workshop(s) held, if any. If so, please include:

Ø  Date and the name of the workshop, and the conference it was held in.

Ø  Number of submissions.

Ø  Number of accepted papers.

Ø  Attendee count.

  • Proposed duration (select one: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 sessions; 1 session=90 minutes).

Prior discussion with the workshop chair about the intention to submit a proposal is highly encouraged. Please contact the workshop chair, Dr. Ahmet Koltuksuz (SINConf-Workshops@sinconf.org). Every submitted workshop proposal will be reviewed by expert reviewers. The organizers of an accepted workshop proposal are responsible for promoting and advertising with proper reference to SIN 2009 Conference. Thus, please be advised to organize your workshop as early as possible to ensure your effort turn out to be fruitful.
